When the undercoat is dry go around and inspect the surface, this will be you last chance to do any last minute filling. If you do find some more spots that need filling and you use a wood filler it will need to be touch up and as before with the primer you could use a water based undercoat just to touch up that bit. This layer covers strokes, holes and any defect on the underbody. It is recommended to apply two thin coats rather than one for extra protection. It may take more than 2 hours to dry out in high ambient temp. Otherwise, one hour should be enough to cool up everything.
I was slightly disappointed with the drying time of 6 hours, this obviously depends on the situation you are working in but the undercoat I am use to using only takes 1-2 hours to dry, so I had to leave the undercoat to dry fully overnight. Coming back in the morning the undercoat had dried leaving a good surface to apply the Gloss too. Exactly, why don't they spend few more minutes to dry off the car after the wash.
